Tuckton does #ChristmasJumperDay

#ChristmasJumperDay 2019

Let's get Tuckton involved

Businesses across Tuckton teamed up to raise a fantastic sum of money for Save the Children’s #ChristmasJumperDay on Friday 13th December. We smashed our original target, raising over £1600 in total, making us the top fundraiser across Dorset, Cornwall, Devon and Somerset.

Tuckton High Street was a hub of activity, with fundraising activities throughout the day. Jasmina from Pro2col won the Pigs in Blankets – Mince Pie and Spoon race. Her time of 12.75 seconds was honoured despite allegations her mince pie was glued to her spoon. Pictures in the gallery!

Local boxing celebrity Kate Farley judged the Christmas window competition, awarding prizes to the most impressive displays:

  • First place: Wilton’s Funeral Services
  • Second place: Hairworx hairdressers
  • Third place: Matthew Furnell Health & Nutrition

“I am writing to say a huge thank you to you and your team for supporting Christmas Jumper Day again and raising a fantastic £1,609! That’s amazing, massive well done to you and your team.”

Dania Shaw, Community Fundraising Manager South West at Save the Children UK

Three pupils from Stourfield Infant School won prizes for their beautiful Christmas jumper designs, judged by the team from Pandemonium. The day was rounded off with a warming winter BBQ and mulled wine at Flat White

Winners of the raffle – which include prizes from Lemon Tree Nails and BeautyTuckton Podiatry and Tuckton Dental Practice – will be notified in the next few days.

Thank you to all the businesses who got involved and the local residents who donated. Special thanks to our business partners who made generous donations that made up a large chunk of the funds raised.

All money raised has gone to Save the Children, changing children’s lives around the world. It’s surprising how even a small donation can add up to make a big difference:

  • £210 could equip 200 children in Indonesia with everything they need for school.
  • £100 could buy the essentials a family fleeing conflict in Syria need to survive the winter cold.
  • £50 could provide a child with a month’s supply of high-energy peanut paste, helping them recover from malnutrition.
  • £20 could provide a newborn baby and mother with the vital supplies they need to get the best start in life.
  • £10 could pay for a child’s schoolbag kit in Kenya to help children learn.

Pro2col named TAG award finalists

Pro2col named TAG award finalists

Pro2col’s contribution to the thriving transatlantic economy was recognised at a prestigious award ceremony in London last night.

We were named finalists in the TransAtlantic Growth Awards hosted by BritishAmerican Business (BAB) at the Grange Hotel, St Paul’s.

BAB celebrate the special relationship between businesses exporting and investing across the transatlantic corridor, in a relationship their CEO Duncan Edwards describes as “deeply intertwined.”

The team from Pro2col were shortlisted for our work serving UK customers of US software vendors in the Micro Inward Investment Gold Award category.

“We’re delighted to have been named finalists. As partners, we work as an extension of the US software vendors who don’t have a footprint in the UK. We serve their customers, adding value through our niche technical expertise and helping them get the highest possible return on investment on their data transfer solution. Our UK-based technical support is particularly valuable, because it means customers do not have to wait for US services to come online.”

Pro2col Managing Director James Lewis

The key components to Pro2col’s successful growth are partnerships with the right US vendors and an expanding portfolio of services. The leadership team identify vendors with a strong brand, exceptional products and promising future roadmap, building partnerships and trust. Pro2col work with nine US vendors to grow their share of the UK market with niche technical expertise and a growing portfolio of services.

First certified UK Globalscape training

First certified UK Globalscape training

Pro2col hosted and attended the first certified UK Globalscape training in London last month. Their technical consultants took part and are now among a select few accredited EFT Admin and Advanced Workflow Engine (AWE) professionals across the globe.

James Lewis, Pro2col’s Managing Director said: “Pro2col’s technical team have been installing and providing support for UK Globalscape EFT users since 2010. They know this technology inside out. Receiving this formal certification is evidence of their depth of knowledge and experience and our customers will benefit from their expanded skillset.”

Globalscape’s EFT – or Enhanced File Transfer – is a leading secure file transfer product with users across the globe. Senior Consultant Adrian Acuña travelled from the Globalscape headquarters in Texas to deliver the two-day training.

IT administrators and engineers from a range of organisations took part in the tightly packed training agenda. They gained a fuller understanding of EFT functionality and learned how to get the most out of the product. The training on AWE proved to be particularly valuable, with delegates learning how to implement advanced workflows to deliver better error handling, manage unusual situations and conditions, and a range of other solutions.

Course content

  • Day one covered an introduction to EFT Server, including: Server administration and delegation; site setup and protocols; Globalscape EFT trainingsettings templates, user accounts, and permission groups; event rules; monitoring EFT Server activity; auditing and reporting; high availability and troubleshooting.
  • Day two focussed on AWE, including: AWE automation vs native automation; creating workflows; creating variables; flow control; loops; debugging workflows and error handling; text manipulation; automating file operations and procedures; automating FTP processes and cryptography and compression automation.

Online exam and certification

Globalscape EFT trainingFollowing the training, delegates were invited to take an online exam, giving the following formal Globalscape accreditation:

EFT Associate Certification
Advance Workflow Engine
EFT Essentials – Administration

Pro2col Senior Technical Consultant Richard Auger said: “It was an intense but rewarding training programme. It is particularly valuable to understand why things work the way they do in EFT, rather than just how they work. This has given us a better understanding of the available possibilities and any limitations of the software.”

Managed File Transfer Is Critical to Increase Business Velocity

Managed File Transfer Is Critical to Increase Business Velocity

Did you know that managed file transfer can work as a one-stop shop for most of the application integration needs within your company? Managed File Transfer technologies provide a single interface to control most of the processes involving your data. This includes processes that integrate Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Order Management. In addition, MFT lets you govern the data pushed and pulled from each application, applying business rules and enforcing policies for encryption, access, data transformation, and so on.

New Logo IpswitchIpswitch File Transfer, who Pro2col represent in the UK, will be hosting an interactive eSeminar to discuss how MFT can increase your company’s capacity to manage and secure data.
