The Environment

A leading tax and audit consultancy firm has a dedicated standalone forensic accountancy team that specialises in complex investigations for global businesses.

This forensic accountancy unit routinely handles highly sensitive financial data and collaborates with external partners for investigations and audits. The Challenge

Given the sensitive nature of the documents and files being processed, the client needed a secure, efficient, and compliant method to receive accountancy files from external partners. Previously, files were only transferred via hard drives and USB sticks, which needed to be manually couriered to site. This added significant cost and time constraints to their data exchange process. In addition, these devices introduced substantial security risks, lacked audit capabilities, and were reliant on third-party delivery.

Key requirements included a completely segregated environment from existing corporate file transfer systems to retain the strict confidentiality of the data being processed by the forensic team, restricted access limited to the forensic team only with access and audit trails for review, and a solution that was user-friendly and easy to roll out within the team to encourage faster adoption and implementation.

Pro2col implemented a GoAnywhere Manged File Transfer system deployed in a bespoke CloudMFT hosting environment, in conjunction with Managed Services. This ensured full isolation from client systems and internal systems, controlled access exclusively for the forensic team, and end-to-end secure file transfer capabilities that meet compliance and security standards.
