Last week, Christchurch Town Centre was filled with festive cheer and carols as we donned our most outrageous, sparkly, and silliest sweaters for our annual Christmas Jumper Day in support of Save the Children UK! Pro2col, along with the support from Christchurch BID, pulled out all the stops to raise as much money as possible for this important cause.
Save the Children, the creators of Christmas Jumper Day, is a charity committed to improving the lives of vulnerable children in both the UK and around the globe, ensuring their children are safe, healthy, and learning. Pro2col has proudly participated in Christmas Jumper Day since 2019, and for our fifth year, we were determined to make it our biggest and best yet, with even more support from our local community.
By 11:30am last Thursday, Saxon Square was transformed into a hub of festive fun. We'd laid on mulled wine punch (alcohol-free, of course), mince pies, and an array of home-baked treats that were too tempting to resist. Even the weather played its part, and Christchurch BID enlisted a local photographer to capture the action. But to truly draw in the crowds, Pro2col and Christchurch BID stood proudly in their jumpers, filling the square with their best singing voices. The sound of classic carols like “Silent Night,” “Jingle Bells,” and “The Twelve Days of Christmas" rang through the square, bringing smiles to local shoppers and even inspiring some to join in the singing.
Also joining us in the festivities were the lovely local team from Save the Children, a calendar highlight they wouldn’t miss for the world. And a big thank you must also goes out to local businesses - Frettens, Dovetail Recruitment, Connect Group, and Rubicon People - who came dressed in their festive best to show their support. Even the four-legged members of the community got involved in the fun, sporting the cutest Christmas jumpers, including Moose, Pro2col's furry ambassador, who wagged his way into everyone’s hearts!
Thanks to the incredible support from the Christchurch community, we managed to raise over £360 for Save the Children. Thank you to everyone who participated, contributed, joined us for the community photo, and made the day so special. Christmas Jumper Day in Christchurch is a tradition we are proud to continue, and we’re already looking forward to next year!
